Academics

Education

The Department of Education  serves as the academic hub for the Teacher Education Program, which holds a national accreditation through NCATE. The program offers opportunities to observe and participate in public school classrooms as a college freshman and beyond. We've developed an exceptional relationship with the schools and teachers in our region. All teacher education professors have taught in public school classrooms, while leisure services and sport management faculty have advanced degrees and experience in the field.

"Within the Department of Education, you can expect to connect with faculty members who are knowledgeable and caring. Professors will engage you within the classroom and take time to help beyond the classroom, as well. We're here for you."

Cindy Johnson-Taylor, department chair
