Nancy Rosenwald – Director of Wessels Library
I manage the library facilities, supervise library staff and student assistants, and administer library programs and services. I am also responsible for collection development, and assist with reference and research questions, as well as library instruction. I love helping students find the answers they need.
Amy Duernberger - Electronic Resources Librarian
I manage all of the electronic resources for the library including databases, journals, e-books and additional web resources. I also provide library instruction sessions for students, faculty, and staff as well as assist with reference and research questions. Believe it or not, I am an avid tennis player and outdoor enthusiast. As a result of my adventures, I am currently writing a hiking guide for the University of South Carolina Press. The working title for the guide is Appalachian Wonder-a guide to hiking the southern Appalachian balds.
Sandy Smith – Research and Office Assistant
I handle all administrative activities for the library, assist the director with budgeting and tracking expenses, managing statistical data, as well as manage the library's recreational reading collection. I also manage all of the content on the library's website. I joined the Wessels library staff in October 1997 as the assistant to the public services librarian, and in January 2006 began in my current position. While here at Newberry, I have been blessed with many wonderful experiences but none as wonderful, or as meaningful as the education I received here. In December 2008, I graduated with a BA in History, and with minors in English, and Creative Writing. In fact, I was the first to graduate with the Creative Writing minor here at Newberry. I have a daughter who graduated before me in 2006, something she has never let me live down.
Shamekia Bell – User Services Specialist
I manage all PASCAL, Interlibrary Loan, and reserve operations, as well as provide circulation and reference support for all library users. I began working for Newberry College in October 2008 as the Assistant to the Public Services Librarian. My position has since evolved to maintain all user and public services relations. I find great joy in helping others, something I believe that has helped me greatly both personally and professionally.
Janice Hudson – Technical Services Specialist
I handle all acquisitions for the Wessels Library. I also catalog and process library materials so that you can locate them in our stacks. I joined the Wessels Library staff in February 1997. Having grown up in Newberry County, Newberry College has always been a big part of my life. I love spending time with family and friends, especially my two adorable grandchildren. I have a fascination with hummingbirds.
