"Living in a Digital Age: Responding to Change"
| |
Newberry College is one of only eleven institutions in the state identified as a Teaching Fellows Institution.
The South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is a scholarship program for qualified South Carolina high school students who wish to pursue a degree in education and a career in South Carolina’s public schools following graduation. Administered by the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention and Advancement, the program provides a $24,000 scholarship/loan for up to 200 outstanding high school seniors.
Teaching Fellows at Newberry gather monthly for fellowship. Fellows also enjoy a special office area in the education department which allows them access to computers and other technology and supplies to assist with their education. Special events each year have included attending state conferences in each fellow’s subject area and special trips to Boston, Atlanta, and Charleston. |
