The Newberry College
ring links alumni with generations of other graduates. It
is a symbol of pride and accomplishment. Beginning in 2003,
those who order rings will receive invitations to a special
ring ceremony where new rings will be presented. The long
standing ring tradition of Newberry College will be enriched
by this ceremony.
Newberry College
alum have a long and rich tradition dating back to 1956. This
college identity is preserved in lifelong friendships, diplomas,
the quality of education, class reunions, homecomings, and
unique memories, and proudly wearing the Newberry College
ring. The Newberry College ring identifies and links alumni
with their alma mater and with generations of other graduates.
It is a reminder of memories and accomplishments.
The earliest Newberry
College ring we have been able to identify is a gold ring
with the seal, class year and degree. It dates from the 1920s.
By the middle of the 20th Century Newberry alumni, men and
women alike, wore a gold ring with the college seal on one
side and the Indian head on the other and a dark red stone
in the center. These two styles and traditions are the basis
for the current ring selection.
