Frequently Asked Questions

I have been admitted and will be attending Newberry College in the fall. When do I go to Orientation?
As an admitted student, you will receive a letter from the Office of Admissions. Orientation information is also available through Wolf Den. For questions, please contact (803) 321-5127.

Is there a fee to attend Wolf Pack Welcome?
There is no cost for students and up to two guests to attend Wolf Pack Welcome.

There is a $10 charge per person (children 5 and under are free) for additional guests. Payment will be accepted on the day of Wolf Pack Welcome in the form of cash or check (made payable to Newberry College).

How do I sign up for Wolf Pack Welcome?
After you have paid the enrollment fee, you will have access to select your preferred session date through Wolf Den.

Do freshmen have to stay overnight during Wolf Pack Welcome?
Yes, residential and commuter, because there are many social activities that happen at night and we want you to get to know your classmates. These connections will be important during your first year at Newberry College.

When will I have an opportunity to meet with an academic advisor?
Your first opportunity to meet face-to-face with an academic advisor to finalize your class schedule will be during a scheduled appointment at a Wolf Pack Welcome session.

Can you tell me more about the Math Placement Test?
ALEKS (Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces) is an online math assessment covering a broad range of math concepts beginning with algebra through pre-calculus.

Who is required to take ALEKS?
All incoming freshmen at Newberry College.  Transfer students are exempt from this requirement.

Is there someone for me to contact if I have questions about new student orientation?
You can contact Ms. Dinah Boice in the Office of Student Affairs, at (803) 321-5146.
