Field Hockey Assistant Coach

Job Description:  This position is responsible for recruiting, skill instruction, scouting of opponents, correspondence, organizing home visits, organizing official visits and unofficial visits, and coaching members of the Field Hockey Team during competition.

Core Job Functions:
1.      Remain current on SACS criteria and ensure compliance in area of control.
2.      Teach sport specific skills throughout the season as related to individual performance development.
3.      Coordinate a sport specific recruiting strategy.
4.      Responsible for administrative work related to team travel, purchasing, equipment and expenditures.

Requirements:  Master’s degree preferred with one to two years collegiate coaching experience including effective leadership, communication, coaching and recruiting skills. Or, Bachelor’s degree required.  A strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept and a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required. Ability to support the goals and mission of the college and ability and desire to support College functions is also required.

Director of Admissions

Newberry College invites applications for the position of Director of Admissions. Newberry is a regionally ranked liberal arts college in Newberry, South Carolina, a historic college town in the central area of the state. With approximately 1000 undergraduates, Newberry attracts students who prepare for both graduate school and professional careers. Established in 1856, the College embraces the values of the Lutheran intellectual tradition that form the foundation of its culture and philosophy today.

Job Description: Reporting to the Dean of Enrollment Management and a member of the enrollment management leadership team, the Director of Admissions will oversee the admissions staff. The Director is responsible for achieving both the annual and long-range enrollment goals and assists in the development of marketing and communication strategies. Additional responsibilities include collaborating closely with all campus constituencies, including marketing and communication, faculty, financial aid, retention, and registrar’s office, to ensure attainment of recruitment goals. The Director will participate directly in recruitment activities, including travel, public presentations, application review, scholarship awards and correspondence.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. A record of six or more years experience in admissions is required. Admission management and experience with CRM implementation is desirable.
Candidates should demonstrate depth and breadth of experience along with a record of success in building relationships inside and outside their organization. The Director must remain current on best practices in the field of strategic enrollment management, updating admissions practices, policies, and technology as needed. He/she will prepare reports concerning admissions, recruitment and general office management and perform other duties as needed. Successful candidates should demonstrate an understanding of liberal arts institutions, a commitment to campus diversity, strong public speaking skills and the ability to mentor and motivate a team.

Director of Financial Reporting

 Job Description:  The position of Director of Financial Reporting is responsible for the financial reporting function of the College including preparation and distribution of financial statements to accurately reflect the financial position of the Institution.  Responsible for financial reports to various outside entities including IPEDS and accrediting bodies.  Ensures that documentation complies with College policies, professional standards, GAAP reporting guidelines, FASB pronouncements, NACUBO guidelines and NCAA requirements.  Maintains accurate and timely financial data.  Acts as liaison and oversees the work of the external auditors.  Additional duties include managing fixed asset accounting, ensuring the accuracy of the financial system by working with the Director of Accounting to ensure that the Jenzabar chart of accounts is maintained and updated and new accounts are established as necessary.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree, CPA certification, proven ability to prepare financial statements, and demonstrated knowledge of GAAP (FASB) and not for profit accounting.  Master’s degree, experience in private Higher Education, knowledge of SACS standards and Jenzabar preferred.

Additional Qualifications:  Ability to work with complex automated systems; Good oral and written communication skills; Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize detailed data into meaningful management reports and interpret policies; Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and perform detailed work; Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals; Ability to establish and document adequate internal controls

Residence Life Coordinator

Job Description:  The Residence Life Coordinator’s primary areas of responsibility include: staff supervision, staff training and development, departmental operations, student development and programming.  Also, this position will oversee aspects of the student conduct process. This position has responsibility for the supervision and management of 1-2 residence halls.  This position is a full time, annual, on-call position with a meal plan when the dining facility is open.  Additionally, the Residence Life Coordinator is required to live in college provided housing and use the meal plan to interact with students on a daily basis.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required in a related field, Master’s degree preferred in Student Affairs Administration.  Need to have a working knowledge of college student development and experience with campus activities or conference services.  Have knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
