Director of Financial Reporting

 Job Description:  The position of Director of Financial Reporting is responsible for the financial reporting function of the College including preparation and distribution of financial statements to accurately reflect the financial position of the Institution.  Responsible for financial reports to various outside entities including IPEDS and accrediting bodies.  Ensures that documentation complies with College policies, professional standards, GAAP reporting guidelines, FASB pronouncements, NACUBO guidelines and NCAA requirements.  Maintains accurate and timely financial data.  Acts as liaison and oversees the work of the external auditors.  Additional duties include managing fixed asset accounting, ensuring the accuracy of the financial system by working with the Director of Accounting to ensure that the Jenzabar chart of accounts is maintained and updated and new accounts are established as necessary.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree, CPA certification, proven ability to prepare financial statements, and demonstrated knowledge of GAAP (FASB) and not for profit accounting.  Master’s degree, experience in private Higher Education, knowledge of SACS standards and Jenzabar preferred.

Additional Qualifications:  Ability to work with complex automated systems; Good oral and written communication skills; Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize detailed data into meaningful management reports and interpret policies; Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and perform detailed work; Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals; Ability to establish and document adequate internal controls

Mail Center Clerk

Job Description: The mail center clerk oversees the daily operations of the campus mail center between the hours of 11:30am-3:00pm as directed by the Mail Center Coordinator and Dean of Students.  This is a part-time, 12 month position, working at least 20-25 hours a week.

Requirements:  Strong organizational skills. Ability to work as a team member. Customer service oriented.

Coordinator of Student Engagement & Leadership

Job Description: Under administrative direction, the Coordinator for Student Engagement and Leadership is responsible for developing and implementing campus activities and events, overseeing student organizations and advising the campus programming board.  Responsible for designing and creating a roster of activities and programs that promote a vibrant and supportive campus life experience, fostering student development at Newberry College.  Assists with advising eth Student Government Association and Greek Life.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Student Affairs and 1-2 years experience preferred.  Experience in advising student organizations, campus activities and/or event planning.  Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience developing and managing budgets. Working knowledge of college student development theory and a strong commitment to the enhancement of the intellectual, cultural, social, physical and moral development of students.

Nurse Practitioner - Part-time

Job Description: under the supervision of a physician, provides age-appropriate primary health care to eligible members of the Newberry College community including primary prevention, health education, and assessment and treatment of health problems.  Function within APRN scope of practice in accordance with SC Nurse Practice Act.  Functions as a part-time, ten-month employee, working between 10-18 hours per week.

Requirements:  Maintain current S.C. APRN License and Nurse Practitioner certification; advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification; membership with the Association of College Health.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Previous experience in a medical office setting.

Residence Life Graduate Assistant - Part-time

Job Description:  The Residence Life Graduate Assistant is a member of the Office of Residence Life Professional Staff and reports to the Director of Residence Life.  Primary areas of responsibility include: staff supervision, staff training and development, departmental operations, student development and programming.  This position is a part-time, 10-month, on-call position with a meal plan when the dining facility is open.  Additionally, the Residence Life Graduate Assistant is required to live in college provided housing and use the meal plan to interact with students on a daily basis.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.  Master's Degree in Student Affairs Administration or related field preferred.  Working knowledge of college student development theory and a strong commitment to the enhancement of the intellectual, cultural, social, occupational, physical, and moral development of students.  Experience with campus activities or conference services, college residence life.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Athletic Facilities and Athletic Event Management Intern

 Job Description:  This employee will organize and facilitate all athletic events for Newberry College’s Athletic Department. Including the scheduling of student workers for athletic events. If necessary they will cover these events themselves. This person will also schedule and coordinate the usage of athletic facilities. They will maintain a positive and professional environment for all involved. They will ensure all event paperwork is completed and turned in to the Assistant AD for Athletic Communications.  And any other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree. A strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept and a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required.
