Before
you start, be sure you have your user name and password
that you use while a student at Newberry College . Just
to refresh your memory, the user name is normally your
first and last names, separated by a period; e.g. John.Smith.

Go
to https://secure.newberry.edu/account
/ Note that the address is not the usual http. It
has an "s"added to it. If you accidentally type
in the wrong address, it will simply take you back to
the Newberry College Homepage. You are now at the entry
site for your student account center. |
|
|
|
3. |
|
Enter
your username and password. Then click the
button that says “log in” to access your account. |
|
|
|
4. |
|
Click
on the link that says "Financial Aid."
This link will take you to your online Award Letter,
which displays “Available Awards” on the left, and “Requirements”
on the right. |
|
|
|
5. |
|
Under
“Available Awards,” you will see each award that is available
to you with a “Pending” status. Check the boxes on the
right of each financial aid item that you accept as a
means of paying for your college expenses. If you wish
to decline any of the items, do not check the
box to the right of those items you decline to accept.
Once you have picked the awards that you wish to accept,
click on the “Accept Selected Awards” button.
|
|
|
|
6. |
|
You
have now selected all the financial aid you wish to use.
The next step is to complete the selections by submitting
to Financial Aid all the documents needed to process your
selection on each item. Look on the right side of the
screen. Find the items listed under "Requirements."
For the financial aid associated with each item you chose
to process through the system, download the document by
clicking the printer icon, print the document,
fill it out completely , and mail it to
Financial Aid, or fax it to 803.321.5632.

You
have one important step left, and that is to identify
how you intend to pay the balance of your bill. You
are likely to see that the amount of financial aid does
not cover your balance. Though you won't get your “official”
bill until mid-July, you can get a good estimate of
your balance by completing this portion, and you can
make all the necessary arrangements for payment right
here. To finish this step, download the “Payment Method”
form under the documents column.
- Read
the discussion about your costs and payment methods.
- Use
the worksheet to compute your estimated costs and
determine the balance you owe by subtracting your
awards and loans from your estimated costs.
- Determine
how you wish to pay the balance. Use the links to
register for the Tuition Management System, or to
apply for a Parent Plus or a private loan, if those
are part of your payment plan.

|
|
|

|
Print
out the payment method form, fill in the spaces indicating
how you will make payment, then fax or mail it as indicated
on the form. When the proper documentation arrives at
the College, we will indicate on the site that it has
arrived. If a document has not been completed or submitted,
its status will be labeled as “Not Received” to the right
of each pertinent item. We'll contact you, of course,
if you made an error in completing any document.

|
9. |
|
If
you apply for a Parent Plus or Private Loan, the agency
that coordinates those loans will notify us that your
loan has been approved. Once it does, we will indicate
on your financial aid page that we have received the documents.
The same is true for your enrollment in the Tuition Management
System. |
|
|
|

|
Keep
checking the site until you see that all your items have
the notation “Received” next to them. Once all have that
notation, you have submitted all the necessary paperwork
to receive that financial aid and have completed your
financial aid processing.
