About Me
I have a daughter named Olivia and being her mother is the defining role I play in life. Olivia is 15-years-old and isa 9th grader at Chapin High School. She is a delightful young lady and I enjoy every moment of being her mother. Olivia is very interested and talented in the performing arts and is studying acting and voice; it seems that she has found her calling at a young age. She is also enjoying being a JV Cheerleader for the Eagles.

My husband, Donald Johnson-Taylor, is a wonderful life partner and a source of strength and support for me in both personal and professional endeavors. He also works at Newberry College as Director of Institutional Research and Assessment. I am also the daughter of David and Judy Johnson and feel blessed to have been raised in such a wonderful family. Our family has three pets - Rainor is a Miniature Schnauzer, and he spends most of his time trying to irritate our Silver Shaded Persian, Amor and our Himalyan kitten named Lila. My hobbies include reading (I am always in the middle of a good book), boating (my passion lies at Lake Murray, South Carolina where we live), and attending any type of live entertainment (I love all forms of live entertainment from Broadway plays to Gamecock football). I am also blessed to have wonderful friends and extended family.
One of my favorite quotes is from Nikki Giovanni, "There is always something to do. There are hungry people to feed, naked people to clothe, sick people to comfort and make well. And while I don’t expect you to save the world, I do think it’s not asking too much for you to love those with whom you sleep, share the happiness of those whom you call friend, engage those among you who are visionary and remove from your life those who offer you depression, despair and disrespect."
