NEWBERRY, S.C. – Entrepreneur's Reggie Cannon and Shira Smith will present at Entrepreneur Week hosted by Newberry College’s chapter of Phi Beta Lambda on Tuesday, Feb. 12 and Wednesday, Feb. 13 both at 2 p.m. in the West Memorial Recital Hall of the Alumni Music Center.
In celebration of Black History Month, Phi Beta Lambda will collaborate with the Office of Diversity and the Department of Business, Behavioral and Social Science to host Entrepreneur Week. Shira Smith of the Human Resources Department, Waffle House, will discuss requirements for securing and running a successful franchise. Reggie Cannon is the co-owner of Cannon and Graves Auto Sales, Newberry, SC. He will share the steps of becoming a successful entrepreneur in the retail automotive sales industry.
This event is for students of all majors to listen to minority business owners and learn about the entrepreneur world. .
"This is a wonderful opportunity for Newberry College students to go beyond the traditional classroom and hear from successful entrepreneurs as they share real world experiences and strategies for success in today’s highly competitive business environment, said Dr. Joe Franklin, Professor and Chair of the Business, Behavioral and Social Sciences Department.
