Summer of Sports Camps at Newberry College

 Newberry College is offering several summer camps to youth this year.

Newberry College head tennis coach Mark Gardiner will hold a three-day Newberry Wolves Tennis Camp at the Cannon Tennis Courts from July 15 through July 18, running from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Cost: $75.

The camp is for anyone age 6 and up. The camp is designed to combine the fun of learning and playing tennis with drills for each age group and skill level. Contact Gardiner at for more information.

Coach Jason Valek will hold a wrestling technique camp from July 7 to July 10, featuring three total sessions per day comprised of two instructional sessions and one live wrestling session. Cost: $325; commuter, $205.

A wrestling intensive camp will be held from July 7 through July 13 and will feature four total sessions per day, comprised of early morning intensive sessions, two technical sessions and a live wrestling session. Cost: $375; commuter, $295.

The 2013 Newberry College Dance Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 15 through July 17 for children ages 4 to 12. The registration fee is $50. Participants will be taught a basic dance routine as well as Newberry College cheers, similar to those seen on game day. Campers will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills in a performance on the final day of camp. Contact Jenna Eyre at for more information.
