Welcome to Newberry College’s Division of Student Affairs

Our primary mission is to contribute to Newberry College’s purposes and objectives by establishing and maintaining an environment conducive to learning and growing.  In this context our Student Affairs professional staff is trained and ready to support, not only the academic arena of higher education, but, as importantly, every student’s understanding and appreciation of different cultures and value structures while framing their own.  

We endeavor to provide an atmosphere in which all students can discover more about themselves, their environment, and their spiritual heritage.  We take great pride in working individually with our students to enable them and help them negotiate a positive social, physical, religious and ethical development process.  In a word we work to tap into the vast potential of each student.

The residence hall system at Newberry College is an integral part of this holistic approach to their educational experience in our “home away from home”.  Other critical dimensions of our Student Affairs structure include student government, career planning, retention, campus ministry, wellness services, postal operations, security, intramurals, dining, special interest clubs, student publications, fraternities and sororities, films and special productions, as well as New Student Orientation.
