CO-ED INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL RULES

TEAMS
Participants must all be Newberry College student, faculty or staff members.

Practicing/participating basketball players may not participate. Red-shirt freshmen may participate as long as they are inactive for the school team.

All teams must consist of a minimum of 7 players.

Teams must start the game with 5 players.

Each participant may only play on one team.

RULES
The game will consist of two 20 minute halves (running clock). Halftime will be 5 minutes.
The clock will be stopped in case of injury, at the referee's discretion and on dead balls in the last 2 minutes of play in the last half.

Each team shall have 1 time out per half, consisting of one minute each. Unused first half timeouts do not carry over to the second half.

Overtime -if tied after regulation there will be a 5-minute overtime to determine a winner.

Individual fouls will not be kept track of and therefore players will not be able to foul out.

Team fouls will be kept track of and free throws will be shot for bonus and double bonus at 7 and 10 team fouls respectively.

GAMES
The referee has full authority on game decisions once the game begins.

Referees may forfeit the game at any time if a player's conduct is believed to be abusive.
