CO-ED INTRAMURAL INDOOR SOCCER RULES

TEAMS

All teams must consist of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 10 players.

Each participant may only play on one team.

Teams may start a game with a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 6 players on the field.
No goalie is permitted.

RULES
The game will consist of two 20 minute halves (running clock). Halftime will be 5 minutes.
The clock will be stopped in case of injury, fights, at the referee's discretion and on dead balls in the last 2 minutes of play in each half.

Each team shall have 1 time out per half, consisting of one minute each. Unused first half timeouts do not carry over to the second half.
Each team may substitute players freely provided that players must substitute off the field of play or within the touch line in the area of their team bench.
Fouls result in 2 minute time penalties for the player and a power play situation for the opposing team. The number of players on the field cannot become less then 4 players at any time.
Following a goal, the opposing team will receive possession of the ball.

Overtime -if tied after regulation there will be a 5-minute sudden death overtime. If the game remains tied after the overtime period, each team will participate in shootouts to determine the winner.


GAMES
The referee has full authority on game decisions once the game begins.

Referees may forfeit the game at any time if a player's conduct is believed to be abusive.

Only the team captain may speak to the officials.
All teams must be ready at their designated game time, if not, a forfeit will be
 awarded.
Initial possession of the ball will be decided on by a flip of a coin in the first half. The ball will automatically go to the other team in the 2 nd half.
