CO-ED INTRAMURAL ULTIMATE FRISBEE RULES

TEAMS

Participants must all be Newberry College student, faculty or staff members.
All teams must consist of a minimum of 7 players.

Teams may start a game with a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 7 players on the field but both teams must have the same number of players on the field at all times.

Each participant may only play on one team.

RULES
The game will be played to 13 points or to a hard cap at 50 minutes.

Hard Cap: If neither team has scored 13 points by 50 minutes, the game will be played to 1 point higher then the high score at that time. For example if the score is 9-8 at 50 minutes, then the first team to 10 points will win the game.
Each team shall have one time out per half, consisting of one minute each. Unused first half timeouts do not carry over to the second half. Time outs may only be called with possession of the disc and the person with the disc must start with it again after the time out.

Half time occurs after the first team reaches 7 points.

You may not run with the disc. Advancement must be made by throwing of the Frisbee.
Upon receiving the disc a player has a 10 second count to throw it again if guarded by the opposing team within 3 meters. A stall occurs if a player fails to get rid of the Frisbee within the allotted 10 seconds. The 10 seconds must be counted aloud by the opposing team in order to result in a stall.
Change of possession occurs in the following: A throw-away, a drop, a block, an interception, out of bounds or a stall.
Contact between players that disrupts the possession results in a foul.

Players will call their own fouls and they will be either confirmed or denied by the observer.
In the case of fouls, play resumes as if possession were retained.
There is no double teaming or picking allowed.

Substitutions may only be made after a score or in the case of an injured player.
No spiking of the disc. Spiking results in warped discs that do not fly correctly.

GAMES
The observer has full authority on game decisions once the game begins.

Observers may forfeit the game at any time if a player's conduct is believed to be abusive.

Only the team captain may speak to the officials.
All teams must be ready at their designated game time, if not, a forfeit will be awarded.
Initial possession will be decided by the flip of the Frisbee.
