MISSION
STATEMENT
The
purpose of Newberry College Wellness Services is to enhance
the students college experience by promoting healthy behaviors
and lifestyle choices through ongoing education and providing
quality healthcare that is both accessible and cost-effective.
The
Wellness Center provides healthcare, makes appropriate referrals
with local resources within the community, and facilitates
education and health promotion programs in a caring and convenient
manner.
During
normal business hours, the Wellness Center is staffed by a
Registered Nurse who serves as the Director of Wellness. A
Physician's Assistant is available Thursdays from 9:00 - 12:00
beginning August 30, 2006. The Wellness Center is located
on the first floor of Smeltzer Hall.

There is a licensed Social Worker Certified in Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy available:
Tuesday
& Thursday- 12:30-5:30pm
The
Counseling center is located on first floor of Smeltzer Hall,
across from the Nurse's office

Newberry College community is filled with people who care.
The faculty, staff, Dean of Students, Vice President for Academic
Affairs, Resident Directors, Resident Advisors, Campus Pastor,
and the College Nurse are all committed to supporting students.
WELLNESS OFFICE
Each student must complete a medical form showing medical
history and a record of immunization. If this form is not
on file in the Nurse’s Office in Smeltzer Hall, medical
service will not be provided. The required medical form is
sent to new students from the Office of Student Affairs.
