Available Majors, Minors, and Concentrations
The Bachelor of Arts program in Communications offers three concentrations: Public Relations and Advertising, Sports Communications, and Journalism/Electronic Media. All students complete core courses in media writing, law and ethics, and mass communication, culminating in a senior capstone. They can also broaden their experience through a minor, double major, or study abroad.
Hands-on learning is central to the program. Every student completes a career-focused internship, often leading to professional connections and job opportunities. Students gain practical experience by producing Wolves Weekly and working with WNIR-LP FM, the student-run radio station, where they host podcasts and on-air shows. Our sports TV program, Wolves Weekly, airs on FloSports, YouTube, and the Newberry College TV channel, covering Newberry athletics and community stories.
