The Business of Sport
The Bachelor of Science in Sport Management at Newberry College prepares students for careers in the sport industry. The program combines sport, leadership, and business with topics like management, marketing, finance, and ethics, along with hands-on learning. Requirements
Sport Management majors are required to take 47-53 credit hours:
- 25 hours: Sport Management fundamentals
- 21 hours: Business courses
- 3 hours: Communications courses
- 4 hours: Mathematics courses
The Sport Management minor provides a comprehensive overview of the Sport Management field, from accounting and marketing to sport psychology and facility management. Students are required to complete 9 credit hours of required courses in Sport Management, one elective in Business Administration, and one elective in Communications.
The Sport Management Certificate consists of 12 credit hours, or 4 courses, from the Master of Science in Sport Management and Leadership offered online by Newberry College. This program is structured as a part-time offering and each course will take 8 weeks to complete. Students can use these credits to count toward the full Master of Science in Sport Management and Leadership degree, which will require an additional 18 credit hours.
