Bio:
My name is Katrina Bigham, and I thoroughly enjoy serving as an online, adjunct professor for the Master of Education in Teaching, Learning & Curriculum program at Newberry College. My main instructional areas in the program are focused on literacy and curriculum. I have three children, Alyssa (23), Ava (16), and Andrew (13). My hobbies include traveling, reading, doing yard work, and attending concerts.
Currently, I am an Assistant Principal at a middle school, and this is my 26th year in Education. I received my undergraduate degree from Clemson, a Masters in Reading from Clemson, a Masters in Educational Leadership from Winthrop, and an EdD in Education Improvement Systems Science from Clemson. During my career, I have had the opportunity to serve as a high school and middle school English teacher, a Literacy Coach, a Master teacher through TAP, an assistant principal at the high school and middle school levels, and a Curriculum Coordinator for an elementary school. Literacy is a passion of mine, and I hope to grow and learn with my students to provide rich literacy experiences for students. Literacy is the cornerstone of learning and becoming an informed citizen.
