Billye West

Billye West

Bio:

A Newberry native, Billye West was born to John B. and Gertie Mays West on February 2, 1938. He attended Newberry County schools and graduated from Newberry High in 1956. He attended the Palmetto Military Academy and graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1961.

West is the president of West Electrical Contractors of Newberry, Inc., and owner of both West Development Company (real estate development) and Mini Warehouses of Newberry College. He is a member of Carolinas AGC; S.C. Waterfowl, Newberry Quail & Dove Association.; Newberry Business Alliance, Newberry County Development Board/Chamber of Commerce; Newberry Country Club; Newberry Moose Lodge; ISBA - Newberry High School; former state president of Mechanical Contractors Association of South Carolina; and former president of Midlands Area Mechanical Contractors Association of South Carolina.

West and his wife, Peggie, have five children (Misty, Brandy, Tiffany, Billye II and Sabin) and are members of the First Baptist Church in Newberry, S.C.
