Bio:

Dr. Meger D. Chappell is a retired United States Navy Captain with a distinguished career in executive leadership, command, and strategic operations. During his naval service, he held multiple senior leadership positions, including Commanding Officer of the guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG-80), Deputy Commander of Littoral Combat Ship Squadron Two, Deputy Commander of Destroyer Squadron Forty, and Commodore of Destroyer Squadron Four Zero and Task Force Four Five in Mayport, Florida. Dr. Chappell holds an extensive portfolio of advanced academic credentials, including master’s degrees in Management, Military Operational Art and Science, Human Resources Management, Business Administration (MBA), Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, and Juris Master Studies. He also earned a Professional Doctor of Law degree and a Ph.D. in Business Administration. and is completing a Doctor of Law & Policy. Professionally, Dr. Chappell serves as a FINRA Public Arbitrator, Department of the Navy Mediator, Florida Supreme Court-certified Civil Circuit, County, and Family Mediator, and Guardian ad Litem. He is the Chief Operating Officer of Chappell & Chappell Consulting and Mediation Professionals, LLC. 


In academia, Dr. Chappell is the Academic Chair of Business at Trinity College of Jacksonville, where he also teaches business and pre-law courses. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct professor at National University’s College of Law and Public Service, teaching Alternative Dispute Resolution and chairing doctoral dissertations for Ph.D. candidates. His academic interests center on leadership, ethics, dispute resolution, organizational behavior, and applied policy.


Beyond his professional roles, Dr. Chappell serves on the Board of Directors for the National Naval Officers Association and the International Committee of Ethno-Religious Mediation.
