James A. DeMeo, M.S. is a best-selling author, educator, professional speaker & sports security expert. Mr. DeMeo brings vast experience to the public/private, corporate, non-profit healthcare, sports/entertainment, vendor management and higher education ecosystems. 

 

Mr. DeMeo serves as Chief Executive Officer at Unified Sports and Entertainment Security Consulting, LLC., (USESC) based in Raleigh, NC. He was recognized by Security Magazine as The Most Influential People in Security 2017. He is also the author of the best-selling book, What’s Your Plan? A Step-By-Step Guide to Keep Your Family Safe During Emergency Situations.
 

Mr. DeMeo holds professional memberships with ASIS International, National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security-NCS4, and the National Contract Management Association-NCMA.
 

Mr. DeMeo's higher education teaching experience includes roles as a remote learning Adjunct Faculty Instructor with the following Universities: Tulane University's School of Professional Advancement-SoPA, (graduate students), Jacksonville State University, Dept. of Kinesiology, Mercer University-Stetson School of Business, and Newberry College-Division of Business, Communications and Sport, where he teaches undergraduate students about Facilities, Event Security, Sport Venues, Risk Management and Risk Assessment.

A strong proponent of lifelong learning, Mr. DeMeo recently earned an Online Higher Education Graduate Certificate from Appalachian State University-Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies in May, 2023.

On April 12th, 2024, Mr. DeMeo was recognized by Tulane University as a Distinguished Faculty Award for distinguished service and teaching excellence in the School of Professional Advancement.
