Newberry College Earns Gold in 41st Annual Educational Advertising Awards

College Recognized Among More Than 1,000 Competing Institutions Nationwide for Athletic Marketing Campaign

NEWBERRY, S.C. — Newberry College has been recognized in the 41st Annual Educational Advertising Awards (EduAd Awards), earning a Gold Award for its athletic marketing campaign. The competition, administered by HMR Publications Group and headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., is the largest educational advertising competition in the country.

This year’s competition drew more than 2,000 entries from over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools across all 50 states and numerous foreign countries. Judges consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, and marketing and advertising professionals.

Newberry College received a Gold Award in the Total Athletic Marketing Campaign category for its campaign titled “Sometimes Choosing Small is How You Go Big.” The Gold Award is among the highest distinctions offered in the competition and recognizes outstanding achievement in creativity, strategy and execution.

“At the heart of these awards is the success of our student-athletes and the Newberry College community they represent," said Molly Gutterud, vice president of Marketing. "Our team works hard to capture what makes Newberry College special, and being honored among more than 1,000 institutions nationwide is a testament to just how special this community is.”

The EduAd Awards program has served as a benchmark for excellence in higher education marketing and advertising for more than four decades. Gold awards were presented to 481 institutions in this year’s competition.
