Newberry College Singers Seek Community Participants for Upcoming Concert

NEWBERRY — The Newberry College Singers invite members of the community to join them in their upcoming performance of Handel’s “Messiah.”

The performance, part of a Christmas concert given with the Newberry Chamber Orchestra, will take place Friday, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m. in Wiles Chapel, on the Newberry College campus. This is the third time the group has partnered with community participants to perform the iconic piece.

For those interested, rehearsals are slated for Saturday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. until noon in the W. Darr Wise Rehearsal Hall, room 218 in the Alumni Music Center. A dress rehearsal will be held Monday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. in Wiles Chapel.

Participants should attend at least one Saturday rehearsal to perform.

The Dec. 6 performance is free and open to the public.
