Support the Future with a Gift

Since Dr. Maurice Scherrens became president on Aug. 13, 2012, Newberry College has entered a golden age of growth.

Steady student enrollment growth, from fewer than 1,000 in 2012 to 1,300 in fall 2022.

Twelve new undergraduate degree programs, our first new master's program, and six new NCAA Division II sports.

Completion of the Scaling the Summit comprehensive capital campaign, the transformation of our campus, and the launch of three new buildings in spring 2022 alone.

Newberry College has emerged as a regional leader

Over the last decade, Newberry College has emerged as a leader among Southern colleges. In 2012, Newberry was ranked No. 34 in the region by U.S. News & World Report. Today, Newberry stands at No. 11 overall, No. 4 for best value, No. 7 for social mobility, and is recognized for our diverse student body. Additionally, Newberry College graduates accumulate the least student loan debt per borrower, out of all higher education institutions in South Carolina, according to LendEDU.
