Assistant Wrestling Coach (Full- Time)
Under the direction of the Head Coach you will help run the collegiate Wrestling program at Newberry College. You will help instruct and develop student athletes; assist in making strategic decisions; assist in developing and implementing the overall recruiting strategy; and handle administrative responsibilities associated with the program operations, including recruiting logistics and planning, team travel details, and equipment ordering. You will also assist in fundraising efforts and running special events.
At minimum a bachelor’s degree required (Masters Preferred). 3 years of experience coaching wrestling at the NCAA level.
Must have outstanding technical, tactical and strategic knowledge of wrestling. Strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to work with and relate well to a diverse group of athletes, administrators, and faculty & staff members as needed. Must be able to establish yourself as a respected coach to students, faculty, alumni, media, and the broader Newberry College community.
Must be administratively self-sufficient and be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and web applications. Should have basic video filming, editing and analytical ability.
