Student Financial Services Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and collecting student accounts receivable in conjunction with Student Accounts and Financial Aid.  Provides oversight for efforts to enhance student/family ability to be financially cleared in a timely manner.  Must project professionalism and strong communication skills, while portraying a positive attitude due to the point of contact with students and families.



  • Responsible for direct communication with all students regarding the status of their student tuition, fees, financial aid, and all related expenses, as well as payment options.

  • Reviews delinquent student account records to determine which students must be contacted for collection of overdue accounts.

  • Handles all student communications and transactions in a professional and confidential manner.

  • Monitors and receives payments from students on delinquent accounts.

  • Develops and implements college collection policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for the development and/or approval of student payment plans.

  • Assists the processing all federal and private student loan payments for student accounts including reconciliation of electronic funds with the Financial Aid Office.

  • Partners in verifying cash requirements for federal and state aid and grant programs and initiating all electronic funds draws for federal and state aid and grant programs.

  • Responsible for preparation and distribution of federal 1098-T forms for all enrolled students in January of each year.

  • Coordinates with Financial Aid to help ensure timely communications of awards, and Student Affairs regarding any changes in meal plans and/or housing arrangements.


REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, and/ or Communication.  Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have a solid understanding of basic accounting procedures and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Able to utilize campus technology to advance office needs.
