Bio:
Before joining the Newberry College faculty full time in 2023, Tracy Cook served as the program director and the director of clinical education for the respiratory care program at Midlands Technical College. She previously served as a clinical care respiratory therapist. Tracy started her career in education as a clinical instructor and preceptor before she moved to education full-time. Tracy has served as both the president and the treasurer of the South Carolina Society for Respiratory Care (SCSRC). She is also a graduate of the Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care’s Key Personnel Academy. Tracy was awarded the Patricia K. Blakely Memorial Higher Education Scholarship in 2019, SCSRC Presidential Award in 2022, and the Leadership Respiratory Care Practitioner of the Year Award in 2023. Tracy has served state and national committees, which include SCSRC/DHEC Tobacco Advisory Committee, Lexington School District Two STEM Advisory Board, AARC Membership Advisory, and AARC Student Engagement Task Force.
