David Vorpagel

Trustee Emeritus


Bio:

David L. Vorpagel started his career with the Aid Association for Lutherans in April of 1964, as a District Representative in the Orlando, Fla., area. He was appointed Management Assistant in the Florida Agency in 1979 and Assistant General Agent in Memphis, Tenn., in 1982. Vorpagel was appointed General Agent of the Florida Agency in 1983.

He has been the recipient of National Sales Achievement Awards and national quality Awards both as a District Representative and during his management career. Vorpagel was recognized by the Aid Association for Lutherans with the Agency Builder award in 1991 and 1992. He has served as a leader on congregational and district levels as well as professional organizations.

Vorpagel and his wife, Ruth, live in Pickens, S.C. They have two daughters, Lisa and Sarah. Lisa is an alumna of Newberry College. He has retired from AAL and enjoys time with his children and grandchildren on their farm.
