Bio:

Dr. Rebekah Dixon is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Newberry College, where she has taught since 2004. She has played a central role in developing academic programs, including the M.S. in Sport Management and Leadership (2022), the B.S. in Exercise Science (2018), and the B.A. in Public Health (2023). She has also served in faculty leadership positions such as Chair of the Tenure and Promotion Committee and contributed to numerous college committees and honor societies. Beyond academics, she previously coached Newberry’s cross-country teams and organized the 2008 South Atlantic Conference Championship.

Dr. Dixon earned her Ed.D. in Sport and Athletic Management from National University (2025), with research focused on coaches’ perceptions of female student-athletes’ mental health challenges. She also holds an M.S. in Physical Education from Winthrop University and a B.S. in Sport Management from Western Carolina University. A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, she maintains additional CPR/First Aid credentials and extends her service to the community as a volunteer with the Newberry County Animal Shelter.
