Bio:
Dr. Shelly Klinek is a native of Irwin, Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. Dr. Klinek was Pennsylvania University College Professor of theYear in 2016.
She began her teaching career in 1986 and has taught in Pennsylvia, Ohio, West Virgina, New York, and South Carolina. She has taught Health, Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education and has been a Special Olympic Coach and coordinator for 25 years in the public schools. Dr. Klinek has taught at the collegiate level for seven years at Edinboro University, Slippery Rock University, University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and now Newberry College.
Dr. Klinek was inducted into her high school Hall of Fame in 2010, where she was the first woman in school history to score over 1200 points in 3 years. (no small ball or 3-pointers back then).
She played Women's Professional Football for three years and she continues to play Senior Olympic Basketball.
She has two children, a daughter Katie, and a son Daniel.
