Derek Knight

Bio:

Derek was born and raised in West Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from Midlands Technical College with an Associate in Arts in 2013. He then attended the University of South Carolina where he received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2017. While there, he worked with the football team for two years, working both the Independence Bowl in 2014 and the Birmingham Bowl in 2016. He also spent time with track and field, softball, beach volleyball, and campus recreation, and worked for the Atlanta Falcons as an intern in the summer of 2016.

After graduation, Derek worked for Newberry College as an intern, where he worked with the football and wrestling teams. He then attended North Greenville University working as a graduate assistant, where he worked with the football and women’s lacrosse teams while completing a Master of Business Administration. After graduation Derek returned to Newberry College as an Associate Athletic Trainer, where he works primarily with the football and baseball teams.
