Bio:

Mrs. Elisabeth Ramirez serves as college organist and the accompanist for Newberry College’s Department of Music, including the Newberry College Singers, Madrigals and voice studio. As a collaborative pianist, she won numerous prizes in youth competitions at the state and national level in her native Germany. Ramirez studied at University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim with Prof. Ulrich Eisenlohr, emphasizing vocal and instrumental piano accompaniment. She has performed in many recitals and concerts with singers, instrumentalists, and ensembles in a broad repertoire in art songs, oratorio, opera and diverse chamber music from the Baroque Period to contemporary. She also worked as accompanist for several choir formations in Germany, including continuo playing. In addition to her piano skills, Ramirez is also an accomplished violinist. In Germany, she performed with the Symphony Orchestra of Kaiserslautern for over 25 years and participated in several chamber orchestras and smaller ensembles. Since moving to Newberry in 2015, she has been a member of the Newberry Chamber Orchestra, performs regularly with the S.C. Philharmonic and Aiken Symphony Orchestras, and teaches private lessons in piano and violin.
