Bio:
Associate Professor Gerald Seals teaches management, business ethics, business law, organizational behavior, human resource management, conflict and negotiations, and strategic management. Prior to his arrival and during his tenure at Newberry College, Seals has owned several businesses and served as chief executive officer for several cities and a county government. Seals is a highly sought-after speaker and management consultant who has worked with the U.S. Department of Defense and Orange County, California, during its bankruptcy. Seals was instrumental in establishing the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency, one of the largest public risk management pools in America, and served as chairman of its board of directors.
Seals has received numerous awards for managerial excellence, Who’s Who awards, and the Order of the Silver Crescent from the State of South Carolina.
Seals serves as pastor of the Living Word Church and Fellowship. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in government and public administration, and from the University of Denver with a Master of Arts in philosophy. He did additional graduate work in community development with an emphasis in municipal administration at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is currently completing a doctorate in business from Capella University.
