Newberry College is celebrating the ‘Berry BRIGHT Opportunities, made possible through the generosity and support of our alumni and friends during Scarlet & Gray Week. This year, we invite alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends worldwide to join together for a weeklong celebration of the opportunities found across campus.

Sunday, May 4 – ‘Berry Faithful Opportunities: Lutheran Sunday
Newberry College prepares students in the Lutheran liberal arts tradition through our supportive academic community for lifelong intellectual and personal development, meaningful vocation, and engaged citizenship in the global society. Our campus community is guided by Lutheran core values: Faith and Reason, Freedom and Responsibility, Diversity and Inclusivity, and Personal and Public Vocation.
Monday, May 5 – ‘Berry Lasting Opportunities: Leave a Lasting Legacy
Establishing an endowed fund or leaving a planned gift are two of the most enduring and meaningful ways you can ensure opportunities continue at Newberry College.
Tuesday, May 6 – ‘Berry Smart Opportunities: Goldstar Academics
Newberry College’s well-rounded and rigorous education prepares our students for a successful future. Rooted in our strong liberal arts foundation, our diverse range of majors, professional certifications, and graduate programs give students the opportunity to engage in-depth with faculty, staff, and other students on a wide range of topics every day.
Wednesday, May 7 – ‘Berry Beautiful Opportunities: Smiling Faces, Campus Spaces
From engaged learning to service, self-reflection, and fun, Newberry students shine brightly as they create a vibrant campus community. They find their calling in and out of the classroom, while enjoying campus life, and student organizations and clubs.
Thursday, May 8 – ‘Berry Peppy Opportunities: School Spirit
Newberry College has a long history of spirited opportunities thanks to our superb bands and musicians, cheer and dance groups, and champion intercollegiate athletics teams. Our students (and alumni) are leading the way in Scarlet and Gray Spirit on- and off-campus.
Friday, May 9 – GIVING DAY!
Giving Day is a day to celebrate all that makes us The ‘Berry and the individuals who create the best version of Newberry College! You can support the College every day but when you give on Giving Day, you will join alumni, students, faculty and staff, friends, and family in creating ‘Berry BIG Opportunities across campus!
