College Invites Community to Join Newberry Chamber Orchestra

The Newberry Chamber Orchestra, a collaboration between Newberry College and the local community, invites string musicians to join the college players for their spring concert. If you have previous string experience on violin, viola, cello or bass, and appreciate the wide world of orchestral music, you’ll enjoy playing with the Newberry Chamber Orchestra.

Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., starting on January 19. All rehearsals will be held in the Alumni Music Center, room 218, on the Newberry campus. The repertoire includes classics from Respighi, Vivaldi, Bartok, Warlock, Holst and more. If you would like to join the orchestra, please contact orchestra director Patrick Casey. The concert, titled “Earth Day Dancing,” will be performed Friday, April 22, at 8 p.m., in Wiles Chapel.
