NC Singers Promote Scholarship in the Name of Dr. Sally Cherrington Beggs

The Newberry College Singers, conducted by Dr. Chris Sheppard,will present a program of all sacred music on April 19 at8:00 p.m. in Wiles Chapel. Assisted by esteemed professor, Dr. Robert Hawkins, the choir will perform Zoltan Kodalys Missa Brevis, accompanied by organ. This mass was composed in 1944, while the composer and his wife were living in the cellar of the Budapest Opera House as the Soviet army fought to clear the Nazi army from the city.
