NEWBERRY COLLEGE TO CELEBRATE SCARLET AND GRAY DAY ON MAY 2

April 26, 2019

#

Newberry College will celebrate Thursday, May 2, as Scarlet and Gray Day – A Day for Newberry.

The one-day event on Thursday, May 2, encourages alumni and friends of the College to wear their favorite Newberry gear, make a gift to the Newberry College Annual Fund, and share their love for the Newberry with their friends and family on social media with #day4newberry.

“Scarlet and Gray Day allows Newberry employees, alumni, friend of the College and community members to pause at the end of a busy spring semester, celebrate all that we’ve accomplished and wrap up the academic year on a high note,” said Scott Joyner, vice president for Advancement.

A Day for Newberry encourages friends of the College to make a gift to the Newberry College Annual Fund anytime during the 24-hour period starting at 12:01 am, on Thursday, May 2. Gifts to the Annual Fund support scholarships, academic programming, athletics, student life initiatives, employee salaries, campus operations and campus improvements.

The College is seeking a new record in single-day contributions by reaching the milestone of 400 donors. The more people who give, whatever the size of their gift, the greater the impact for students.

“Scarlet and Gray Day is a way for people to show their appreciation for Newberry’s role in the community and to make an impact in the lives of students and within our community,” Joyner said. “Great things are happening at Newberry College and we encourage people to get involved through their gift of support.”

People can make a gift to Newberry College’s Scarlet and Gray Day in any of the following ways:

·         ONLINE:  Go to www.newberry.edu/Day4Newberry
