Transfer-Friendly Financial Aid
Transfer students are a valuable part of our campus community. To prove it, we offer a comprehensive financial aid package, which includes up to $15,000 in merit-based institutional scholarships specifically for transfer students. The minimum amount of aid you can receive is $9,000.
South Carolina residents transferring to Newberry College for 2023-24 may also receive our S.C. Tuition Grant Replacement offer. You may also be eligible for other state-funded scholarships, such as S.C. Life, S.C. Life Enhancement, S.C. Hope, S.C. Palmetto Fellows and S.C. Palmetto Fellows Enhancement.
Transfer students should also be sure to submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for financial aid. Newberry's school code is 003440.

Transferring from a Technical College or Two-Year Institution
- If you've completed an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Applied Science degree from an accredited institution with a grade of C or better, you will transfer to Newberry College with junior-level standing and have most general education requirements waived.
- In addition, be sure to view the SCTC Course Equivalency Guide to see what classes will transfer from South Carolina's technical colleges. A maximum of 72 credit hours will be accepted toward graduation for students transferring from a junior, technical, or community college. See the Newberry College Catalog under "Admission to the College" for more details.
Transfer-Friendly Housing
Transfer students are now able to choose whether to live on-campus in a residence hall or commute to campus. We offer nine convenient and comfortable residence halls with a variety of living arrangements, including traditional double rooms, suite-style and apartment-style. All of our on-campus residences come with the benefits of our living-learning community, including connection opportunities, easy access to campus, flexible meal plans, and a safe and secure campus.

Our two-step application process is hassle-free.
- Complete the transfer application online. We've waived the application fee, and eliminated the letter of recommendation requirement, to make applying easier than ever!
- Submit college transcripts. Send us your official transcripts for all current and previously attended colleges and universities.
- If you have fewer than 24 college credit hours, you will need to submit an official high school transcript in addition to your college transcript.
You'll have an admission decision as soon as your required materials arrive.
