Transfer-Friendly Financial Aid

Transfer students are a valuable part of our campus community. To prove it, we offer a comprehensive financial aid package, which includes merit-based institutional scholarships specifically for transfer students.

In addition to our generous transfer scholarship package, South Carolina residents transferring to Newberry College for spring 2022 may also receive our S.C. Tuition Grant Replacement offer. You may also be eligible for other state-funded scholarships, such as S.C. Life, S.C. Life Enhancement, S.C. Hope, S.C. Palmetto Fellows and S.C. Palmetto Fellows Enhancement.

Minimum GPA

  • 2.0 cumulative transfer GPA to receive a transfer scholarships ranging from $7,000 to $10,000 based upon cumulative credit and GPA. 2.0 GPA required to renew scholarship

Official Transcripts

  • Students with more than 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) or who are over the age of 25, are not required to submit official high school transcripts. Submit all official transcripts from previous or current colleges

SAT Scores

  • Students with more than 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) or who are over the age of 25, are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Remedial courses typically do not transfer. Courses with grades of “C” or better may be considered for potential transfer credit. Military, CLEP, AP courses may also be considered as eligible for transfer.


  • Newberry College does not require an interview

Other Requirements:

  • Course work over 10 years old will be evaluated after successful completion of 24 semester hours at Newberry College
