Available Majors, Minors, and Concentrations
Redesigned and reintroduced into the Newberry College curriculum, the Computer Science major seeks to meet growing demands for skilled I.T. professionals, particularly in South Carolina. The computer science track is a more science-heavy, theoretical course of study that will train students for work in coding and programming. The information technology track includes a more hands-on approach, designed for work with hardware and software to improve communication, strengthen security and solve technological problems.

Requirements
The B.S. in Computer Science is a 56 credit hour curriulum that included coursework in the following areas:
- 33 hours: Computer Science core courses
- 6 hours: Senior capstone
- 17 hours: Mathematics
The B.S. in Computer Science with an Information Technology track is a 39 hour curriculum that includes coursework in the following areas:
- 21 hours: Computer Sciences courses
- 6 hours: Information Technology courses
- 6 hours: Senior capstone
- 6 hours: Mathematics
