The Health Science major offers a broad-based curriculum that is ideal for students interested in health-related careers but who don't need the specialized focus required of other science majors. The major also is structured to satisfy the prerequisites for entry into most Allied Health programs.


Health Science majors can explore a wide variety of lucrative job opportunities in fields that will continue to grow over the next 10 years. (Some career paths may require further training or certification beyond the undergraduate degree so be sure to discuss your areas of interest with your faculty advisor.) 


Health Science


The B.S. in Health Science is a 60-62 credit hour curriculum that includes coursework in the following areas:


9 - 10 hours: Public Health and Wellness
8 hours: Introductory Biology and Chemistry
8 hours: Human Anatomy and Physiology
6-7 hours: Mathematics
2 hours: Experiential Learning
25 hours: Health Science Electives
2 hours: Capstone
